Make It Two

Syracuse has both of their quarterbacks after Kimble signed on the dotted line. He offered his thoughts and feelings on his memorable day with inside.

Jersey Community High School quarterback Mitch Kimble out of Illinois has officially added himself with Austin Wilson to the 2013 Syracuse Orange football class, signing his National Letter of Intent.

"It's a great feeling," said Kimble. "I'm very excited about it. It's something I've been looking forward to for a long time now. I'm just thankful to be in this position I am. It's just a blessing for me."

What make Kimble want to put his name on the dotted line with Syracuse University? "Just taking a visit out there, just getting around to everyone, getting to know the coaches better and knowing the players," Kimble shared. "I just felt like I just had that comfort level with Syracuse. I just felt like it's a good fit for me."

The dream of elevating to NCAA Division I-A (Football Bowl Subdivision, or FBS) play is something Kimble has had for awhile. "I really can't even remember how long," Kimble stated. "It's been so long, that ever since I was a little kid it's been my dream to play at the next level for football. It's exciting it's about to happen."

Kimble has been critiqued at times on film. Responding to those critiques he said, "I just say that they're just seeing a little bit [of] what I have. I'm going to...really work hard, get better, make improvements, and I think they'll be impressed with what they see in the future."

Sharing his experience with all Syracuse fans, he wanted to forward a message to them. "I'm just excited to be part of the Syracuse family," Kimble exclaimed. "Go Orange!"
