Alin Edouard Talks 'Cuse Offer

Syracuse offered a 2014 Florida quarterback today in Hialeah Senior High product Alin Edouard. He discusses the offer, his interest in the Orange, and a connection he has to Syracuse that could impact his recruitment inside.

Syracuse continues to offer 2014 prospects, including some that are committed to other schools. Today, the Orange offered Hialeah Senior High (FL) quarterback, and current Miami commit, Alin Edouard.

"I got it today during 7th period," Edouard explained. "I got it through my coach. I was excited when I got it. I've been thinking about Syracuse. In December I was talking to Ritchy Desir. He's one of my friends. We talk about the school and everything. He made me feel like it was a great school with a great atmosphere. We Florida guys, we stick together. That's how we roll. I'm interested in getting up there and seeing what it's all about.

"Coach (George) McDonald is who offered me, my coach said."

Despite being committed to Miami, Edouard is still looking around. He says his recruitment is still open.

"I'm committed but it's a soft commit," Edouard admitted. "I'm still wide open. I have a bunch of offers and I'm just seeing what happens."

Recently, Miami lost Mario Cristobal to Alabama, who was recruiting Edouard. The two have a strong relationship, and that could impact his recruitment.

"It kind of does have a little affect to it," the 6-foot-2 quarterback said. "But not a big impact. I've been talking to him for over a year now. He offered me at FIU (Florida International) and he got Miami to take a look at me. It kind of impacts me, but I understand how things work."

With his connection to Desir, Edouard is going to take a hard look at the Orange. He likes the idea of the two playing together.

"It would be big time," Edouard said. "I have to get up there and see if what he's telling me is true. I hope to take a visit this summer. Ritchy is my guy and it'd be cool to play with him."
