Williams on Syracuse's Radar

While on a recent trip to check out 2014 prospects, a 2015 prospect caught the eye of Syracuse coaches at Blanche Ely High School in Florida. Defensive back Kevin Williams does not hold any offers yet, but has received interest from several schools. He discusses the latest inside.

While the majority of the focus is on the 2014 class, the Syracuse coaches are identifying 2015 talent as well while on the recruiting trail. One such prospect that caught their eye is Blanche Ely (FL) defensive back Kevin Williams.

"Yes, Syracuse just started recruiting me," Williams said. "They came to my school. It was Coach McDonald. He talked to my coach. They asked my coach about our safety and they saw me. They went to my coach and said they were interested and that they would come back to see me."

Still early in the process, Williams is learning about the Syracuse program. Despite that, the interest did not come as a surprise to the rising sophomore.

"I don't know much about the program yet," Williams admitted. "I'm going to look into to it. I wasn't shocked (Syracuse showed interest). When I play, I play my heart out because I'm hungry for that first offer. I wasn't shocked by it."

Williams is still looking for his first offer despite interest from several schools. He believes if he keeps working hard, those offers will come.

"As of right now, I don't have any offers," Williams claimed. "I'm hearing from Florida State, Georgia, Iowa State, and Miami."

Williams added that he would like to take a visit up north to check out the Syracuse campus in person.
