McCray 'Surprised' by Syracuse Offer

Linebacker Terry McCray is one of several talented prospects at Blanche Ely High School in Florida. He recently added Syracuse to his list of offers, and reacts to it inside.

Florida has been an important pipeline for Syracuse over the last few years, and new offensive coordinator George McDonald is looking to continue that success. He recently offered 3-star Blanche Ely (FL) linebacker Terry McCray.

They actually came to one of my practices," McCray said. "They told me there, right after we were done. It was George McDonald. I was kind of surprised because I didn't know they were watching me or that they were interested or evaluating me. So I was kind of surprised."

Recruits generally have positive things to say about Coach McDonald. The 6-foot-2 prospect was no different.

"My first impression was good, " McCray admitted. "He seems like a cool guy. From us talking, I can tell he's a real good coach. We talked about a visit. I should be going there sometime this summer."

While a decision is not imminent, McCray would like to have the process finished by the time summer ends. He says he has no favorites for the time being, and summer visits could be critical.

"I also have offers from Miami, FAU, Tulane and Minnesota," McCray claimed. "At the moment I'm not too sure if staying close to home is important. I'm still wide open but I'm trying to make a decision by the end of summer."
