Mazzi Wilkins is one of the most talented defensive backs in Florida and has continued to add offers to his list. Recently, Syracuse offered as they look to continue to build a pipeline in the Sunshine State.
"It's pretty awesome, but at the same time it's tough. You've got to pick the right school for you. You have so many offers but can only go to one school. But it's always good to have options."
The 6-foot defensive back is still learning about Syracuse and developing the relationship with the coaching staff.
"I had a scrimmage and they were at my scrimmage," Wilkins recalled. "When I was in school, I got an email saying to give them a call when I got home after practice. So I called and he (Tim Lester) told me I had an offer. They like how long I am and how I can play. Pretty much my length and my understanding of the game, and how I can break on routes.
"They talked about getting me up there this summer and I said I'd get back to them. I'm probably only going to a few schools this summer and I'm not one hundred percent sure which ones yet. I'm looking at figuring that out now. My dad and I are going to try to do that in the next five days. He talked to me about that and about how they're the 8th team on the NFL Network as far as putting the most players in the league."
Still early in the process, Wilkins says he is wide open. He could have a busy summer, and expect his decision to venture towards signing day.
"I only have five officials but I would love to get up to Syracuse," Wilkins admitted. "I just have a lot of schools and I'm not anywhere close to making my decision yet. I'll probably wait until the end of June, then in July start narrowing it down.
"But if I'm not one hundred percent, if I'm not liking my list in July then I'll just wait until signing day. I don't have any favorites right now."
