Wilson Adds Another

Thomas Wilson continues to add offers as the Buford (GA) athlete becomes a coveted prospect. He discusses his latest offer and updates his recruitment inside.

Syracuse has been recruiting Georgia very hard in 2014 as they offered over twenty prospects. One of the Peach State's most talented players who was recently offered is three star athlete Thomas Wilson.

"The recruiting director, Mr. (Eric) White, he messaged me on Facebook," Wilson recalled. "He told me to call the head coach, Coach (Scott) Shafer. I called Coach Shafer on the phone and he told me that they offered me. He said I'm a smooth player, they like me on both sides of the ball but I think he offered me as a corner, he said that he would like me to come up there and visit.

"I'm going to try my best this summer to go up for a visit. I'll try to plan it around my team's practice this summer. I would say about two weeks prior to the offer they've been recruiting me that I know of."

Recruiting conversations have happened several times for Wilson. However, the conversation he had with Syracuse when he picked up the offer stood out.

"I was definitely surprised when I got to talk to the head coach," Wilson detailed. "It was my first time talking to a head coach so far in the recruiting process. I was definitely surprised and amazed when that happened."

Syracuse is recruiting Wilson as a defensive back. He is being recruited by others as a wide receiver or running back. That athletic versatility is why the 5-foot-11 prospect continues to add offers. He say, however, which position he plays is not important.

"To me, it doesn't matter what position I play as long as I play," Wilson admitted. "Whatever position the school I go to wants me to play, that's fine with me."

Wilson also says he is still wide open despite the growing list. He could narrow things down as early as this summer, but don't expect a decision anytime soon.

"No I don't have any favorites right now," Wilson claimed. "Every time I'm ready to sit down and start to think about where I want to go to school, I get new offers. Whenever I stop getting offers, maybe the middle of the summer, I'll probably start narrowing it down to where I want to go.

"I'll probably decide sometime during my senior season because I want to make sure I go to all the places I'm really interest in going. That might take a while to see what every school has to offer."

Wilson added that Syracuse is one of those schools he wants to go see before any decision is made.
