Wyndmoor (PA) La Salle College linebacker Zaire Franklin has been one of Syracuse's top targets for some time. He took another visit to the Orange campus over the weekend to get a better feel for the program.
"I went up there and hung out with A.J. (Long)," Franklin described. "His dad came along. Just got to see the players. Got a campus tour and got to speak with someone in the department of my major, sports management. Hung out with the team. Cam Lynch, he's a good dude. I hung out with J West (Jarrod West). It was really just chilling and getting to know the atmosphere."
Franklin and Long have been developing a relationship since Long committed to Syracuse. Franklin says Long is persistent in trying to get him to wear Orange.
"A.J.'s my recruiter," Franklin said with a laugh. "A.J.'s my boy. I really like Syracuse. It just really comes down to making the decision. That's just what it really comes down to."
The visit for Franklin allowed him to get a better feel for the Syracuse program.
"Previous visits I was only with the coaches," Franklin recalled. "I got to meet with Coach (Clark) Lea for more than two hours. I talked to Coach Lea at the end of the visit too. And Coach Shafer before he went off to Ohio. But this visit I also got to hang out with players and that was cool."
Franklin added he has gotten a good feel for Syracuse and can see himself playing there. However he is not sure when he will make a final decision.
