The Syracuse Orange officially begin play in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) this coming Fall.
With their schedule already released for the 2013 season, the Orange now know who their crossover opponents will be for seasons 2014 through 2024.
A crossover opponent is a team from the opposite division that each ACC school will play. There are two crossover opponents for each school every season. One crossover opponent never changes, with the Pittsburgh Panthers filling this spot for Syracuse. The other crossover opponent rotates amongst all the remaining schools in the opposite division from season to season.
Here is who the Orange will face as a crossover opponent after the 2013 season:
2014: Duke Blue Devils
2015: at Virginia Cavaliers
2016: Virginia Tech Hokies
2017: at Miami Hurricanes
2018: North Carolina Tar Heels
2019: at Duke Blue Devils
2020: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
2021: at Virginia Tech Hokies
2022: Virginia Cavaliers
2023: at North Carolina Tar Heels
2024: Miami Hurricanes
Syracuse's rotating crossover opponent for the upcoming season are the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, of whom the Orange will face on the road on Saturday, October 19th.
