Teammates React to Cooper News

Upon being notified that one of their own will not join them for the Fall, Syracuse's incoming class responded inside.

The news of Syracuse Orange signee Corey Cooper not being available to play this coming season did not take long before getting out to those affected.

Shortly after Cooper mentioned to me that he "won't be attending this Fall, will be attending in the Spring", there came the opportunity to speak with some of his future teammates.

Preparing to line up against the likes of Cooper and other receivers for the upcoming Fall camp, cornerback/safety Chauncey Scissum commented on not having Cooper with him this year. "Well it's obviously a little bit of disappointment on my side, but I know he's gonna work hard these next few months to make sure he gets to where we are, where we're gonna be in a few days," said Scissum. "So, we're just gonna have to trust him that he's gotta do what he has to do to get there and when he gets there we'll be proud."

Another defender that would have potentially been seeing the likes of Cooper against him also shared his thoughts. "It is a little affecting," incoming linebacker Marqez Hodge shared. "I don't know too much about him but I know I would like for everybody for them to be able to come there that was being recruited...I would like that 'cause that's better competition for me."

Cooper has weighed in as well with these remarks he offered over Twitter, "Coming back bigger and stronger WATCH!!!"

Later on, he reached out to Syracuse fans once again through Twitter, stating, "Syracuse has the best fans in the world #cusenation #orangenation #respect I will be ready !!!"
