Onto Summer League: Brandon Triche

The 2013 draft has come and gone and now it is time for players like Triche to make an impression. He has plenty to offer heading into his audition. See inside.

Brandon Triche joins fellow Syracuse Orange senior James Southerland as an undrafted free agent.

But he does not head into the summer without much to offer.

Triche is fearless when it comes to attacking the basket and rarely gets called for charges because he exhibits controlled tenacity. No matter who stands in front of him, when he wants to get to the basket, more often than not he will get there.

Away from the basket, Triche has illustrated that he can make the deep shot and take over from beyond the arc at times.

Competing on the Charlotte Hornets in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League, he will need to show that he can consistently attack from inside the paint as well as outside.

Along with consistency, Triche must elevate his point total. Though he can and has reached double-figures on a game-to-game basis, he told me himself at the beginning of the 2012-13 season that he wants to be a consistent 20-point scorer.

Defensively, Triche has a good knack for the ball, reading passes and getting his hand in to disrupt attempts at moving the ball. This disruption has led to transition opportunities where Triche has excelled, both in passing and attacking the basket.

Add in his attention to the ball, good placement, and fight for rebounds and an NBA team could be getting a steal this summer.

Las Vegas Summer League begins on July 12th and runs through the 22nd.
