Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle Institute offensive lineman Aaron Roberts was set to visit Syracuse over the summer. However, he was unable to make the trip. He subsequently rescheduled his visit for Syracuse's home opener against Wagner as an official visit. After some thought and discussion with the Orange coaches, they moved the official to this weekend when Syracuse opened ACC play against Clemson in the Carrier Dome.
It was a wise decision that proved to be well worth the wait for Syracuse. During his official visit, Roberts pulled the trigger and committed to the Orange. Roberts was also considering Illinois and Oklahoma, though the Sooners had not offered. New Mexico, Ball State and a few others had offered but were not in the picture.
Roberts is a two star prospect ranked as the 120th best player at his position in this cycle. He projects as a guard at the collegiate level and is the fourteenth prospect to pledge Orange for their 2014 class.
