Commitment Calculator

Syracuse has had some set backs on the recruiting front with two decommits over the last week. As they shift their focus to other targets to fill the void, what are the chances the Orange land those prospects? We break it down inside.

Syracuse is looking to finish their class strong with eight to ten slots available. We take a look at their big board and who they have the best chance of landing.

Thomas Holley: - Syracuse is not out of it yet. Holley has taken officials to Penn State and Ohio State, respectively. The good news for the Orange is that he has not committed to either and could be eyeing more visits. Should Syracuse get one of those trips, and push the Terrel Hunt factor, they have a shot. Still, it's a long one at best right now.

Steve Ishmael: - Every time Ishmael talks about his top schools, Syracuse is mentioned. The Orange and Illinois seem to be the most mentioned programs. Consider them the favorites going forward. A lot will be decided by official visits, but Syracuse is in a good spot here.

Chad Mavety: - Mavety has cooled on Syracuse. The Orange's only shot is to get him by default if other schools fill up their classes. That is not likely with Ohio State, who are the favorites to land the four star prospect.

Deion Hallmon: - Syracuse and Wisconsin appear to be out front, with a slight lean towards the Badgers. He has yet to visit either school, and officials will be the key. As always with Hallmon, this one will be full of drama and come down to signing day.

Mike Johnson: - Things are still progressing slow for Johnson, but Syracuse is very high on the athletic corner. The staff may even like him better as a prospect than Hallmon. He already has his official scheduled, and it is the only such visit on the calendar.

Nile Sykes: - The Orange want Sykes bad, but Missouri and Iowa State are the favorites. He has an official visit scheduled in December, and a lot will be decided then. For now, Syracuse is on the outside looking in but only slightly.

Chris Slayton: - The top target at a position of need, Syracuse is going to go all out for Slayton. He has not scheduled an official visit yet, but does plan on taking one. Aaron Roberts and Lamar Dawson have been in his ear about the Orange as well.

Tommy Mister: - This could go either way. Despite being committed to Iowa State, Mister is looking around and Syracuse is one of the schools staying in touch. Having Dawson talking to him about the Orange every day doesn't hurt either. But Michigan State and Indiana are hot on his trail as well.

Micquell Cotton: - Based on what we know, Syracuse seems to be in a good spot. There is legitimate interest on both sides here, but I've always had the feeling that Cotton will end up at Iowa State or somewhere closer to home. Scheduling an official will be key for Syracuse.

Zeek Rodney: - Syracuse may have offered late, but they are arguably his biggest offer along with Boston College. He scheduled an official shortly after being offered, and the Orange have a shot at landing a commitment during that visit.

Cordell Hudson: - Syracuse is very high on Hudson, but could be the third team on his top three right now. He loved his visit to Iowa State and they should be considered the favorites. Both Syracuse and Rutgers will have their shot to make an impression during December officials, however. The engineering program will be the biggest selling point.

Tim Gardner: - Syracuse will have a small chance if they can get him on campus, but Ohio State, Miami and USC are the favorites here. Ultimately, he likely stays with the Buckeyes.

Chasz Wright: - This depends more on whether Syracuse offers than Wright's interest. If the Orange decide to extend an offer, Wright likely ends up in Central New York.

JaWhaun Bentley: - Another one that could go either way. Maryland will try to keep the talented linebacker home. Whether Syracuse gets an official visit will tell whether or not Bentley is legitimately interested.
