Syracuse puts away Ryerson

Syracuse closed exhibition play Tuesday night, defeating Ryerson 81-46. Recap inside.

Syracuse closed out exhibition play and defeated Ryerson 81-46 Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome. It was the Orange's last tune up before its season opener against Cornell on Friday.

Syracuse was able to overcome a first half surge by Ryerson and answer in the second half by pushing the ball and getting out in transition.

Trevor Cooney, a key piece to the Orange's success this season, showed confidence in his shot, nailing multiple threes on the evening while Tyler Ennis and Michael Gbinije shared time at the point.

Tyler Roberson, DaJuan Coleman and Rakeem Christmas did their jobs and crashed the boards on both ends of the court.
