Jerami Grant had possibly the dunk of the year in college basketball so far when he slammed home an offensive rebound in the second half against California in the Maui semifinals. The dazzling display was just a small part of his career performance on Tuesday as Syracuse defeated the Bears 92-81.
Grant hit seven of his 11 attempts from the floor and finished with a career high 19 points. He hit mid-range jumpers, made five of his six free throws, and attacked the rim regularly. His athleticism stands out as he frequently plays above the rim.
His improved strength and body control is evident in his ferocious dunks. Grant also added eight boards, but more impressively dished out three assists.
Grant's all around game continues to round out as he becomes a weapon for the Orange off the bench. With performances like this, he will continue to shoot up NBA draft boards.
For Syracuse, his emergence could be a critical part of the Orange's run at a second consecutive Final Four.
