Grant has breakout performance in Maui

The talent Jerami Grant possesses was known by die-hard Syracuse fans who saw that skill flash during stretches last season. In Maui, Grant proved his game has gone to another level as he dazzled with his athleticism throughout.

Aloha, Jerami Grant. Syracuse's sophomore forward had a breakout performance in the Maui Invitational as he announced his status as one of the better forwards in the country.

As if insulted by his mortal 12 point, 5 rebound performance against Minnesota on Monday, Grant stepped up his game to be one of the best players on the floor on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As the competition got better, so did Grant. He consistently hit a mid-range jumper, a weapon he has worked tirelessly on throughout the offseason. Grant attacked the rim, finishing with thunderous dunks and layups alike. Often times absorbing contact and finishing with a traditional three point play opportunity.

All Grant did over the last two games was average 19 points per game while shooting 65% from the floor. To top it off, the man who had shoot well below 50% from the free throw line coming hit 12 of his 13 attempts (92%).

Grant was solid on the boards as well, and gave the Orange that energetic spark off the bench. As he continues to show his ridiculous athletic ability and refine his game, he will undoubtedly move up NBA draft boards.

Grant is blossoming into a superstar right before our eyes.
