Williams raves about Syracuse official

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) High linebacker Jaboree Williams knows he has to make a decision quickly if we wants to enroll in January. Official visits are going to be a key in his choice. Over the weekend, Syracuse had their chance to make an impression, and Williams discusses the visit inside.

Jaboree' Williams recruitment has jumped to warm speed as he is an early enrollee who had the head coach of the school he was committed to unexpectedly resign. Over the weekend, he took an official visit to Syracuse after the Orange ramped up their interest.

"Definitely it was a great visit," Williams said. "I really enjoyed it. How it impacted my recruitment was it really surprised me. I got to see how the professors were and other things about their great medical program. It was a great visit.

"Syracuse is definitely a school I'm considering in a way that it's possible to come here. I really have a lot of interest after visiting this weekend. I think it's a great school. They have a chance to be the school I pick."

While on the trip, Williams toured the campus, checked out the facilities, went out to eat at Dinosaur Barbecue, attended the Syracuse basketball game and much more. The experience made him consider pulling the trigger.

"When I was there, committing came into the back of my mind," Williams said. "But I know the situation. I have to take my time because this is a decision I have to live with for the next few years of my life."

The part that sticks out the most to the Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) product was meeting with the coaches.

"My favorite part was when I met with coach Lea," Williams said. "He's a great guy. He's my cup of tea guy. He's well rounded, smart, he's about organization. He's about family with coach Shafer and those guys. It was about building the relationship with those guys and finding out they were my cup of tea.

"They're losing Marquis Spruill, the linebacker. So I have a chance to come in here early and play. I would get some reps because I'll be there in the springtime. They were just telling me they want me to become part of the family. They're expecting to do big things."

Spending time with the team and other recruits on the visit was another part that stuck out to the two star linebacker.

"They were great," Williams said. "The guys were great, they were comical. They were guys that I liked and I could joke around with them and hang with them. The facilities were great. The inside facilities were amazing.

"The Carrier Dome was great. The new facilities that are being built are going to be great. They're spending a lot of money on it. The facilities really surprised me and all they had to offer surprised me."

Is it possible that Williams could go home and make up his mind before taking his trip to Pittsburgh next weekend?

"Coach Shafer is coming down on Wednesday to see my mom," Williams said. "If that goes great, you never know I might make my mind up then. I'm not sure as of right now."
