Williams arrives in Syracuse

There was concern among Syracuse fans that Wayne Williams would never make it to campus. On Friday, those concerns were proven false.

When Corey Cooper and A.J. Long arrived as early enrollees last weekend, there was a notable name absent from those moving in. Defensive tackle Wayne Williams had not moved in with Cooper and Long.

Williams was supposed to arrive over last summer to be part of the 2013 Syracuse Orange. However, academic issues stood in the way and he was unable to enroll. Fast forward to his absence last weekend and many feared the same story was revisited.

Syracuse fans then received good news Friday morning. Wayne Williams' name appeared in the student directory, and CuseNation.com received confirmation that Williams is indeed on campus and taking classes.

Williams addition to the team is a big one, literally and figuratively. With the loss of Jay Bromley, Syracuse is looking for interior defensive linemen to step up. Williams joining the Orange now allows him to get acclimated to his new home and the defensive system.
