"Yes they offered," Washington said. "It was great. I was kind of already thinking that I was going to get the offer. I just didn't know when. My coach told me they had been showing interest. They came by the school this week and coach got me out of class. I came out and I saw coach (George) McDonald and coach (Rob) Moore. I shook their hand and they asked me a couple of questions.
"He asked if I was going to help them beat FSU. I was like, ‘yeah.' He said, ‘OK, you've got the offer.' Then we set up the visit for the 31st."
Washington and fellow 2014 defensive back Antwan Cordy are close friends. The two have discussed playing together at the next level.
"That would be really good," Washington said. "We're both kind of the same. We're the same height, we're both strong and cover really good. We can both help in the return game and we're both fast.
"If Syracuse gets both of us, that would be double trouble. We've been texting about it and both have the same offers. We might be playing college ball together."
With the new offer in hand and signing day approaching, Washington is giving Syracuse a serious look.
"I already know they have one of the best schools," Washington said. "I just want to meet the coaches and make sure they like me. I want to walk around and see the campus to get feel for everything.
"I'm looking forward to the Syracuse versus Duke game. I know that's going to be a big game."
Washington is a two star prospect and will be taking an official to Louisville this weekend.
