Ennis injures ankle in road win

Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis injured his ankle in the second half of the Orange's 67-57 road win over Wake Forest.

Syracuse was in control for most of the second half of their win over Wake Forest Wednesday night. That doesn't mean the Orange faithful didn't receive a scare of epic proportions.

Star point guard Tyler Ennis injured his ankle when the Demon Deacons set a screen on the freshman point guard. His ankle twisted severely, and Ennis was walking around with a noticeable limp for the rest of the game.

Shortly after the injury, however, he walked over towards the Syracuse bench and gave head coach Jim Boeheim a thumbs-up. An indication that he was good to stay in the game.

Play-by-play man Matt Park tweeted out after the game that Ennis told reporters that he was fine and will be good to go on Saturday.

There's some relief there for Orange fans, but will Ennis be 100% when the Orange face the Duke Blue Devils? He seemed to move a bit better as the rest of the game went on.

Still, swelling will be the key opponent over the next few days. Ennis will play and it sounds like he is expected to be close to 100% if not unhindered by the injury.

It was close to a nightmare scenario for Syracuse who lack a true backup point guard.
