Syracuse will have two coaching vacancies to replace for the 2014 season. Rob Moore left to coach with the Buffalo Bills. On Monday, CuseNation.com was told be a source that offensive line coach Pat Perles has left the program. It is unknown at this time where Perles is heading.
CuseNation.com later received confirmation from Syracuse Athletics, through Sue Edson, that coach Perles is no longer part of the Syracuse coaching staff.
Offensive coordinator George McDonald is taking over the receiving coach's duties with Rob Moore gone, and that may be the permanent fix depending on what direction the Orange decide to go.
It is unclear at this time who Syracuse will target to replace coach Perles. The Orange could choose to target a strong recruiter, possibly someone with ties to New York City or New Jersey.
The majority of the Syracuse staff remains in tact. Including both coordinators and most of the position coaches. While there will be some turnover due to these two moves, there is still a lot of continuity heading into the 2014 season.
That fact will keep any frustration from recruits at a minimum, and holding steady for the 2015 cycle.
