Quick Hitter: Miller on Cuse offer

Syracuse landed a couple of Philadelphia area prospects in the 2014 class, and are after some talented players this cycle. One to pick up an offer recently is three-star defensive end Shareef Miller.

Philadelphia (Penn.) Frankford defensive end Shareef Miller is one of the most talented players in the Keystone State. He recently picked up an offer from Syracuse, his 16th.

"They haven't been down to see yet but I've been getting a lot of letters from 'Cuse," Miller said. "In yesterday's mail, the coach (recruiting director Eric White) told me I'm a very gifted player and he loved the way I play my position.

"He told me that I need to come to Syracuse to help them bring back an ACC Championship. Then he offered me. It was awesome (to get that offer)."

Miller said he plans to give Syracuse a serious look and wants to visit in the spring or summer. He is planning on getting back in touch with the Orange to go over potential dates.

Despite the offer and abundance of letters, the three-star prospect has yet to speak to a coach in person or on the phone. He is looking forward to developing a relationship with the staff.

Right now, he says he is open to all schools but is hearing more from Arizona State, Oregon and Penn State right now. Syracuse has a chance to move up with a strong visit.

Miller is in no rush, looking to decide after his senior season.
