Syracuse has only put out a few offers at the wide receiver position in the 2015 class. But they found another prospect to add to their list. Miami (Fla.) Belen Jesuit receiver Frank Battle added an offer from the Orange recently.
"I was excited and proud at the same time," Battle said. "I just feel like my hard work is finally starting to pay off. Many people told me it was a waste of time to play at Belen in the wing-t.
"So I really felt like I achieved something when I received the offer from ‘Cuse."
Battle is looking hard at the Orange. In fact, he plans to visit soon where a verbal is not out of the question.
"I'm very interested," Battle said. "Syracuse has everything I'm looking for in a school. I should be visiting either the first or third week of June. I think there's a chance that I do commit when I visit, but then again I'm not 100% sure.
"I want to see the academics. I know ‘Cuse is a great school academically. I want to see the location. I don't really want to live in the city. And I guess I want to see the campus too."
The 6-foot-5 wide receiver fits the mold of what Syracuse is looking for at the position. He is still developing a relationship with offensive coordinator George McDonald, but likes what he knows so far.
"They just showed up at practice one day," Battle said. "They said they were interested. I like coach McDonald. He's a coach that, to me, seems very ambitious to win and put ‘Cuse back on the map."
