Coral Gables (Fla.) High outside linebacker Emilio Gibbs was a popular man during the spring, receiving visits from several schools.
One school that continues to stand out is Syracuse. The two sides have remained in constant communication.
"I'm still in touch with Syracuse as of now," Gibbs said. "The last time was last week. Coach (George) McDonald is my recruiter. I talk to him from time to time, but I also talk to coach (Clark) Lea. He's a guy I can talk to about how things are going as a person, life, football, things like that."
Syracuse is looking to add four linebackers in the 2015 class and Gibbs appears to be one of the prospects the most interested in the Orange.
"I like them right now," Gibbs said. "I'm really interested in Syracuse. I'm loving them right now. I've always liked Syracuse as a little kid. For some reason I've always liked Syracuse. I've watched them on television and followed them and stuff."
The next step is getting Gibbs on campus. While nothing is scheduled, he is in the process of working that out.
"I don't have anything scheduled," Gibbs said. "But I plan to talk to them about it next time we talk. I do want to try to get up there for a visit. I just want to see the academics and the check out the area. Just look around and see if it feels like home."
Gibbs wants to decide before his senior season starts.
