Filling it up

Syracuse may have ten players committed as part of their 2015 class, but they still have a lot of slots to fill. Which prospects will fill take those spots?

Syracuse has ten players already committed in the 2015 class. The Orange could have another full class, and here's how I see it filling up based on what we know right now.

Running Back
Committed: 3 (Tyrone Perkins, Jordan Fredericks, Dontae Strickland)
Slots Remaining: 0
Notes: Syracuse has three three-star running backs already in the fold. Don't expect the Orange to pursue any other players at the position.

Wide Receiver/Tight End
Committed: 0
Slots Remaining: 1
Predicted Prospect: Alex Parkinson
Notes: Parkinson and Battle are the top targets here to play the "Y" position, a tight end/wide receiver hybrid. Expect Syracuse to continue to pursue Parkinson as one of their top overall prospects. Snagging a traditional tight end or wide receiver does not appear to be in the cards this class due to previous hauls.

Offensive Line
Committed: 3 (Sam Clausman, Cody Conway, Colin Byrne)
Slots Remaining: 2
Predicted Prospects: Evan Adams, Andrejas Duerig
Notes: Adams has a Maryland visit Thursday, but indicated that may be a formality based on how well his Syracuse trip went the previous week. It may take a discussion with family over the weekend, but he should be Orange soon. Duerig is the other top target up front. Syracuse wants him as an interior offensive lineman, and he is set to visit on Monday. He has indicated that Syracuse is one of his favorites.

Defensive End
Committed: 1 (Dana Levine)
Slots Remaining: 2
Predicted Prospects: Qaadir Sheppard, Jake Pickard
Notes: Sheppard has been high on Syracuse for some time, and could return to campus this summer. The Orange are in hot pursuit and he is one of their top targets. Pickard is a three-star prospect at tight end, but Syracuse likes him on the defensive side of the ball. He has the Orange among his favorites and will look to visit this month. Strickland's commitment helps here.

Defensive Tackle
Committed: 1 (Anthony Giudice)
Slots Remaining: 1
Predicted Prospect: Jamal Milan
Notes: Milan has a lot of offers, but has Syracuse among his favorites. He is trying to schedule a visit, and says the Orange staff are in touch regularly. All of the attention he receives shows him that Syracuse is serious about how badly they want him as part of this class. Ultimately, he is impressed during a summer visit and pledges Orange.

Committed: 0
Slots Remaining: 4
Predicted Prospects: Mohamed Barry, Doyle Grimes, Jordan Fox, Troy Henderson
Notes: Barry is visiting Syracuse soon, but has to get through a trip to Wisconsin first. If he does, the Orange should be the heavy favorites. Grimes is very high on Syracuse and hasthem among their favorites. Troy Henderson has named Syracuse his favorite, but Cincinnati has jumped into that picture recently. Still, expect the Orange to try to get Henderson back on campus and seal the deal. They are a better program than Cincinnati right now, so if staying close to home is not important, Syracuse should be the choice. Fox had a great visit recently, which moved the Orange up on his list. Strickland will be able to help here as well.

Committed: 2 (Gerald Robinson, Andrew Spence)
Slots Remaining: 2
Predicted Prospects: Daivon Ellison, D'Andre Smart
Notes: Ellison has stated he wants to play college ball with his friend Dontae Strickland. This puts Syracuse in a strong position for the talented corner. Smart is a top target as well, and the staff really likes his upside. He has Syracuse at the top of his list.

Committed: 0
Slots Remaining: 2
Predicted Prospects: Marquise Blair, Daiquan Kelly
Notes: Blair and Kelly are the top two targets, and Syracuse will continue to pursue both very hard. Blair is still trying to set up a visit this month, and the Orange are trying to get Kelly back on campus. Ultimately, I think both could choose Syracuse.

Committed: 0
Slots Remaining: 1
Predicted Prospects: Sterling Hofrichter
Notes: Hofrichter is the clear top target at kicker. He can also punt, which makes his versatility a coveted commodity. He holds no other offers currently, and could commit to Syracuse before the summer is out assuming no other offers come about.
