Daiquan Kelly commits to Syracuse

Syracuse landed another priority target in three-star Daiquan Kelly.

Three-star Union City (N.J.) High athlete Daiquan Kelly committed to Syracuse on Sunday during an unofficial visit. The Orange like Kelly at safety.

This was Kelly's second visit to the campus, having first made the trip for Syracuse's Spring Game in April.

Prior to the visit, Kelly declared Syracuse one of his top four along with Michigan State, Rutgers and Pittsburgh. He tweeted the week prior that he would decide over the weekend, but deleted the tweet shortly thereafter. Kelly had indicated he would wait until August to make his decision, wanting to visit the Spartans first.

Kelly is the third safety in Syracuse's 2015 class, joining fellow three-stars Marquise Blair and Christopher Fredrick. He is 18th prospect in the class overall. He is the second player Syracuse has landed from New Jersey, a star they put emphasis on with the addition of Bobby Acosta to the staff.

Kelly also had offers from Virginia, Nebraska, Illinois and Boston College in addition to his previously mentioned top four.
