Syracuse class of 2014 signee Treevon Prater did not qualify academically to play for the Orange this fall. He says he has decided on a prep school until he can make it to his future college home.
Three-star safety and class of 2014 Syracuse Orange signee Treevon Prater failed to academically qualify which has postponed his time frame for joining the football program.
The East Saint Louis Senior High (Ill.) standout has decided to attend prep school for a semester before joining the Orange in January, he told CuseNation.com via text. The school he will be attending is Midwest Preparatory Academy in Orland Park, Illinois.
Prater admits all of the paperwork has not yet been signed, just that he has decided that is the route and school of choice.
He told CuseNation.com that he will not reopen his recruitment and is "coming to Syracuse no matter what."
Prater was ranked as the 77th best safety prospect in the 2014 class, and chose Syracuse over offers from Illinois State, Indiana State, Kansas and Western Michigan.
