K.J. Williams was considered the highlight of the 2014 class for the Syracuse Orange. He was the lone four-star prospect who signed with Syracuse, and to many, signaled a potential uptick in the level of S.U. football recruiting. Unfortunately, he failed to qualify academically which forced him to spend this semester at Milford Academy. In his first game, he caught the game winning touchdown.
While Williams tweeted a while back that he was reopening his recruitment, he will be on campus this weekend as Syracuse continues to pursue the talented wide receiver. Joining Williams is linebacker Sidney Gopre, a Rutgers commit who is a New Jersey native and former three-star prospect.
Also expected to be on campus is commit Daivon Ellison.
Not to be outdone, Syracuse basketball is hosting their top remaining target in the 2015 class. The Orange already have four top-100 players committed this cycle, but are looking to round that out with four-star center Thomas Bryant. The Rochester (N.Y.) native has visited Syracuse several times before, but will be on campus for an official visit this weekend.
He plans to stay through Sunday morning before heading back to Huntington Prep in West Virginia.
As both Syracuse football and basketball look to make a big impact as they close out their 2015 classes, this is the first big recruiting weekend of many more to come.
