"I felt like I was blindsided," George McDonald said of his removal as Syracuse offensive coordinator over the weekend. "I wasn't happy. If I had known I only had 18 games to be offensive coordinator I would have stayed at the University of Arkansas. I would have never came here. It is what it is. I don't want to be a distraction. I'm here to help coach Lester any way that I can. I'm here to help us get back on track."
McDonald discusses his demotion, his reaction, how it impacts his relationship with Scott Shafer and much more in the video below. He apologized for his comments a few hours later.
McDonald added after the video that the demotion did change the dynamic between he and head coach Scott Shafer. He also added he does not want to be a distraction to the team going forward.
