While their return to Syracuse won’t go as planned in terms of actual basketball, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams and forward Jerami Grant are both “excited” to be back in the Carrier Dome, where each spent two seasons in the blue and orange.
“I’m really excited to be back,” Carter-Williams said. “I’ve been able to see some people here that I haven’t seen in a while.”
While visiting friends on campus, Carter-Williams and Grant were able to spend some time with members of the Orange coaching staff after Philadelphia’s morning shoot-around.
Having seemingly turned the page from their time at Syracuse onto the next chapter of professional basketball, both Grant and Carter-Williams were able to reflect on their time at Syracuse.
“I remember all of the good games we had here,” Grant said. “It brought back a lot of memories being in here.”
But, not playing in his first return to the Dome has been eating at Grant during the build-up to this game.
“I’m a competitive player,” Grant said. “Obviously, I want to be on the court in an environment like Syracuse, which is like my second home. It would have been tremendous to have played, but at the same time I have to get through my injury.”
