Former Syracuse signee Alin Edouard is going to the junior college ranks rather than arrive on the Orange campus this month, CuseNation.com confirmed with Garden City Community College head coach Jeffrey Sims. The news was first reported by JUCO Frenzy. Edouard was a three-star quarterback prospect out of Hialeah (Fla.) High who was one of their top players in the 2014 class.
Edouard originally arrived on campus last summer with the rest of the incoming freshmen, but had to go back home weeks later due to an unknown circumstance. Throughout the season, the plan was always for him to arrive this month and enroll for the spring semester. Unfortunately for both parties, those plans changed.
Instead of enrolling in Syracuse, Edouard will do so at Garden City Community College in Kansas this coming weekend, coach Sims said. He added they are very excited to have Edouard as part of their program.
The JUCO news means his recruitment is technically reopened, though Syracuse is still expected to pursue the talented quarterback. He is no longer bound by the national letter of intent he signed last year. Attempts to reach Edouard directly were unsuccessful.
