There are only a few slots left in Syracuse’s 2015 class, and next weekend may be the most important one left before national signing day for the Orange. Who is likely to fill up their class? Let’s fire up the commitment calculator once again to find out.
The scale is 1-star to 5-stars, with 5-stars being most likely to commit to Syracuse.
DE Jake Pickard: – Pickard is currently committed to Wisconsin, but their recent coaching change has opened things up a bit. He recently said he would not be taking a visit just to take one, and things are “up in the air.” Syracuse assistant Bobby Acosta has continued to recruit him even after he chose the Badgers. That can only help their case now. He will be tough to flip, but the upcoming visit will be critical for Syracuse’s chances.
WR/DB Najee Clayton: - Coach Acosta has liked Clayton for a while. After his senior tape came out, the Orange ramped up their interest. He took an unofficial visit during the season when Syracuse played N.C. State and is ready for his upcoming official. Syracuse is in a good spot, and commitment during the visit would not be surprising. It is possible he waits and takes all of his visits, but the Orange are looking strong here.
DE Nate Howard: - Another Wisconsin defensive end commit taking an official visit on 1/16, Howard may not want to play so far away from his Missouri home. While sticking with Wisconsin is not even close to a sure thing, it may be tough to get him to play on the east coast.
S Jazzee Stocker: - Stocker loved his Syracuse official visit in December and his teammate Amir Ealey continues to help the Orange recruit him. That said, his Pittsburgh official visit next weekend will be the most important part of his recruitment. He’s always felt like he would go elsewhere. If he can develop a quick, strong rapport with the Panther coaches, he may end up there. The Orange are in a good spot for now, but can they stay there?
DE Keivonnis Davis: - Davis is currently committed to Syracuse and set to take his official visit next weekend. He maintains he is fully committed to the Orange, but this recruitment has a feel of something being off. Maybe he is waiting for a bigger offer, or maybe we are just reading things wrong. Regardless, the telling sign may be whether or not he takes an official visit to Louisville. This still feels somewhat up in the air, for now.
