Quarterback John O'Korn will transfer from Houston after two seasons with the program. The decision is based on a changeover in the Cougars coaching staff which will install a new system in which he is not an ideal fit.
The former class of 2013 three star prospect committed to Houston early in the process, but several other schools try to flip him late. One of those schools was Syracuse, led by new offensive coordinator Tim Lester.
With O'Korn back on the market, a source tells CuseNation.com that Syracuse is indeed interested. Another source says that he is also considering Texas, Florida, Wisconsin and Miami. None of the five schools are favorites as of Saturday.
O'Korn is the former quarterback of St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Florida. He is also the former teammate of current Syracuse commits Sam Clausman and Colin Byrne. Clausman tells CuesNation.com that he will speak with O'Korn about Syracuse.
Currently there is no timetable for a decision or potential visits. Stick with CuseNation.com for the latest on the O'Korn situation.
