Alvin Cornelius Ready for Bigger Role

Junior wide receiver Alvin Cornelius has stood out in spring practice and could have a much bigger role this season.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse wide receiver Alvin Cornelius has been one of the major standouts during the early portions of spring practice. He has drawn the praise of head coach Scott Shafer multiple times. Cornelius was largely absent from the offense in 2014, but showed the ability to make plays down the field the year before.

In addition to working on his route running and catching ability since the conclusion of the season, Cornelius has worked on his rapport with quarterback Terrel Hunt. As they develop chemistry, it should translate into on the field production.
