Syracuse received NCAA sanctions on Friday, and that naturally brought up concerns about recruiting. Their top target in 2016 is five star Tyus Battle, who is in the first cycle impacted by the sanctions.
CuseNation.com reached out to his father, Gary Battle, to get his reaction to the NCAA ruling.
"We have zero concerns," Battle said. "As long as they're good with us, we're good with them. As long as there is a scholarship available for us, we are very interested. We think it's a bright future at Syracuse. We are still very high on Syracuse."
That is obviously a big sigh of relief for Orange fans as they look to keep recruiting at an elite level even with the scholarship restrictions. Syracuse may need to have someone leave early before the 2016-17 season for Battle to have a spot, but with a player of his talent level, one had to assume that will work itself out.
