Neal releases top five

Three-star athlete Moe Neal has released his top five. Did Syracuse make the cut?

Three-star Gastonia (N.C.) Forestview High athlete Moe Neal has trimmed his list to five schools. A top 50 athlete prospect in the 2016 class, Neal has kept his recruitment somewhat quiet in the last month or two. But that changed on Sunday as he announced his top five.

The five schools that made the cut were, in no order, Syracuse, Duke, Boston College, Mississippi State and Wake Forest.

The Orange have been in pursuit of Neal for some time. They are recruiting him as an h-back, but he has the versatility to play defensive back as well.

”I liked the coaching staff,” Neal said after a visit last fall. “Coach White, coach Smith, and all of them. They really showed us love. They want us real badly. I think we’re building a good relationship and we’re going to keep building one. So that should be nice going forward.”

Neal said his interest in Syracuse was "very high" at that time, and his interest has not wavered. DeAndre Smith is his primary recruiter, and stays in constant communication with the Forestview High standout.

The commitment of friend Robert Washington only enhances where Syracuse stands, as the two are close and Washington wants Neal to join him on The Hill.
