Syracuse Makes Cut for Elite 2017 Wing

Syracuse has made the top 17 for an elite 2017 wing.

Columbia (Mo.) Tolton Catholic wing Michael Porter is one of the top players in the 2017 class and he holds Syracuse in high regard. The Orange have made an initial cut that includes 17 schools, he announced on Twitter Sunday evening.

Syracuse joins Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Virginia and Washington on his list.

There are a lot of big time programs involved, but making the initial cut is a positive for Syracuse. It is still very early in his recruitment, however.

Missouri is not a traditional recruiting ground for the Orange, but Porter is talented enough to pursue regardless.
