Jackson/Greene Expected to Play this Weekend

CuseNation.com spoke with Kevin Belbey, the manager of Boeheim’s Army, who believes the Army will be adding two key players this coming weekend.

General manager Kevin Belbey confirmed via text message that former Syracuse standouts Donte Greene and Rick Jackson are planning to join Boeheim's Army in Chicago for the Super 17.

“We are planning on having them both in uniform,” Belbey said.

That, obviously, is tremendous news moving forward.

Leading scorer Demetris Nichols is expected to play on Friday against the Liberty Ballers, but should Boeheim’s Army win, he will miss Saturday’s game due to a prior commitment. The former SU star will be in New Jersey for a wedding. Demetris averaged 26 points over the weekend, and was the best player on the floor in both games.

“Rick is a big help on the boards and scoring on the low block,” Terrence Roberts told CuseNation.com. “Donte, he adds more depth, scoring and length to an already big lineup. Defensively, it’s a big upgrade.”

Boeheim’s Army defeated NYC Superstars on Saturday, 91-73. On Sunday, it took overtime to advance, 92-91, over 20th & Olney.
