Polanco Enjoys Syracuse Basketball Elite Camp

Fresh off of an impressive elite camp performance, Ari Polanco spoke with CuseNation.com about his experience.

Ari Polanco, a 2016 point guard, visited Syracuse this weekend for the elite camp. His parents both attended Syracuse with Coach Autry and Coach Hopkins, leaving strong ties back to the Polanco family.

Ari told CuseNation.com he felt it was a “priority” to attend the Syracuse camp this summer. After attending many southern elite camps, the 6-foot-tall guard made his way up to central New York.

“I really enjoyed the camp,” Ari said, “It was an awesome experience and I learned a lot!” Polanco lives in North Carolina, where he attends Pine Lake Prep. In the summer, he runs with E.A. Prep Stars in Charlotte (NC).

“Today my main focus was just to perform, but from my understanding, my dad had a great conversation with the coaching staff,” Ari told CuseNation.com.

Not only is Polanco a rising star on the basketball court, he is also a track star. Ari was named an all-state track athlete last year in the 100m and 200m.

Syracuse isn’t the only major D-1 program getting involved; Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, Tennessee and Davidson, among others have been in contact with the Morrisville (NC) native.

“Syracuse is definitely high on my list of schools that I am interested in attending, but nothing is set in stone,” he told Scout.
