The latest on the injury front for the Syracuse Orange as they prepare for the ACC opener

The injury report for the Syracuse football Orange as they prepare for the ACC opener against Wake Forest.

UPDATE: News Channel 9's Steve Infante is reporting that Philips will be out "several weeks" after having surgery on a meniscus injury.

Syracuse released their injury report ahead of their game against Wake Forest. Some bad news for Syracuse is Ervin Philips. He did not play in the second half of the season opener, and is listed as out this week. That takes one of the top playmakers away from freshman quarterback Eric Dungey, who will be making his first start.

What that means for the Orange is more playing time for freshman Dontae Strickland. Ben Lewis is the primary backup to Philips, but Strickland has a much more comparable skill set. Both should see plenty of action against the Demon Deacons.

Philips is the only person listed on the injury report.
