Syracuse Lands 3-star QB Lindsey Scott

Three-star Zachary (La.) High quarterback Lindsey Scott has committed to Syracuse. Details inside.

Syracuse has been looking to add another quarterback in their 2016 class and have found that signal caller. Three-star Zachary (La.) High quarterback Lindsey Scott announced his commitment to the Orange on Monday after picking up the offer from offensive coordinator Tim Lester

Scott says it was the combination of academics and athletics that made him choose Syracuse after speaking with his family about the offer.

"In terms of academics," Scott said. "That always comes first. It's a greeat insititution, near Ivy League. They've been playing good football lately and I can see myself fitting in well there."

In addition to the academic aspect and the way the Orange play on the field, Scott felt an immediate connection with not only coach Lester, but head coach Scott Shafer as well.

"All of the coaches are great," Scott said. "I feel the relationship bonded quickly. The school reminded me a lot of my high school I'm at currently. I think it's a perfect fit."

Scott has not visited Syracuse yet but will take an official visit, it just has not been scheduled yet. He expects to get that on the calendar in the near future. Lester watched Scott play his game on Friday in which he put up over 400 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns.

After discussing it as a stuff, Syracuse decided to offer Scott and he moved quickly to jump on the opportunity.

Scott is a three-star, dual threat quarterback ranked as the 68th best player at his position in the 2016 class. He also had offers from Air Force, Arkansas State, Army, Navy and several others.

He gives Syracuse two quarterback commitments this cycle and 14 players overall.
