Former Pitt commit Tony Butler will take an official visit to Syracuse

The top rated safety in Ohio will take an official visit to Syracuse and has the Orange among his top schools.

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edwards safety Tony Butler had Syracuse as one of his first offers. However, his recruitment took off and he ended up committing to Pittsburgh. The three-star defensive back decommitted from the Panthers recently, and listed Syracuse as one of his top schools along with West VirginiaRutgers and Arizona State.

Butler says Syracuse has been recruiting him very hard, led by linebackers coach Clark Lea, who is responsible for recruiting Ohio for the Orange. Butler is also the former high school teammate of freshman linebacker Troy Henderson

Butler added he thinks very highly of Syracuse and is planning an official visit, though the exact date has not yet been scheduled. He does know, however, that it will be sometime in December.

Syracuse wants to add another defensive back to their class, and remain very interested in adding Butler to the mix.
