Breaking down the leadership for Syracuse women's basketball

Where will leadership come from for the 2015-16 Syracuse women's basketball squad?

The experience of this Orange team is one of their greatest assets.

The Orange returns four starters from last year all of whom will be juniors and seniors this year.  Redshirt junior Brittney Sykes is back and will be instrumental in team’s success. Joining her in the backcourt is senior Brianna Butler. Those two form a talented and experienced tandem for Syracuse this season.

Off the bench, junior point guard Alexis Peterson is an experienced floor general and has played really well in the NCAA tournament proving she has the poise to quarterback this team in tight games.  That gives Syracuse three leaders in the backcourt.

Up front, Syracuse will rely on junior Briana Day. She is a multi-year starter with a lot of experience. She is a tremendous rebounder and a spark for the Orange.

With an experienced player at each spot on the floor this season coach HIllsman will be able to ask more of his team because experience is one less thing to worry about.
