Syracuse football has extended an offer to junior college defensive end Josh Allen

As we reported recently, defensive end has become a critical position for Syracuse football recruiting in the 2016 cycle. The Orange have extended a new offer to a junior college target.

Syracuse is looking towards the junior college ranks for a defensive end, as our premium members have known for several days. On Friday, they extended an offer to Josh Allen out of Long Beach City College. Allen is a 6-foot-4, 260 pound prospect with an impressive offer list.

Allen committed to Arizona in July, be reopened his recruitment nearly two weeks ago. He also holds offers from AlabamaArizona StateBoise State and Louisville with interest from ArkansasOregonUSC and several others.

The Orange already has one defensive end committed in Jamal Holloway, but are looking to add more depth to the roster. Specifically, depth that is ready to contribute right away. Especially with the loss of Donnie Simmons after this season and the possibility that Ron Thompson leaves early for the NFL.

Allen's highlights are in the video at the top of the page. Stick with CuseNation.com for the latest in Syracuse recruiting.
