See where Syracuse basketball stands in a variety of statistical categories within the ACC

A look at how Syracuse basketball is faring compared to the rest of the ACC.

The 2015-16 college basketball season is in its infancy. But even through just six games, for Syracuse at least, some interesting trends and notes are developing. Here are statistics and information on the Orange basketball squad and where they stand in the ACC (as of 11/30). 

  • Tyler Roberson is tied for third most rebounds in a game by any ACC player with 16 against Elon. 
  • Tyler Lydon is tied for the most blocks in a game by an ACC player with 6 against Charlotte. 
  • Michael Gbinije and Trevor Cooney share most steals in a game this season with 6. Gbinije's came against UConn while Cooney's was against St. Bonaventure. 
  • Gbinije also has the most three-pointers in a game this season by an ACC player with 6 against Charlotte. 
  • Syracuse has the most three-pointers made in a game by an ACC squad with 14 against Charlotte. 
  • The Orange also tied for the most blocks and steals in a game. They had 12 blocks against Charlotte and 14 steals against St. Bonaventure. 
  • Roberson is ninth in the ACC in career double digit rebound games with 11. He is seventh in such games this season with three. 
  • Cooney is fourth in the conference with 11 career 20-point games. 
  • Gbinije is tied for third in the conference with three 20-point games this season.
  • Gbinije is fifth in the conference in scoring at 19.7 points per game. Cooney is 20th at 15.0 per game and freshman Malachi Richardson is 25th at 13.8 points per contest. 
  • Roberson and Lydon are eighth and ninth in rebounding in the ACC, respectively at 9.5 and 8.7 boards per game.
  • Lydon is ninth in the ACC shooting 81% from the free-throw line. 
  • Gbinije and Cooney are the top two players in steals per game in the ACC at 2.83 and 2.00 per game, respectively. 
  • Gbinije ranks 5th in the ACC in three-point shooting percentage at 51.3%. He also leads the conference in three-pointers made with 20, while Richardson is seventh with 15. 
  • Lydon is fourth in the conference averaging 2.33 blocks per game. 
  • Syracuse has two of the top four players in the conference in minutes per game. Trevor Cooney (38.33) and Michael Gbinije (35.33) are second and fourth, respectively. 
  • Syracuse is 14th in the conference in scoring offense at 73.0 points per game, but fifth in scoring defense at 63.5 points. 
  • The Orange is fifth in the ACC in free-throw shooting at 70.4%. 
  • Syracuse is third in the conference in field goal percentage defense (36.9%) and first in three-point percentage defense (28.6%).
  • Syracuse is 14th in rebounding margin and 13th in turnover margin. 
  • Syracuse leads the conference in three-pointers made per game with 10.0.
