The Orange are coming off a 64-49 win against the Stony Brook Seawolves Sunday afternoon. Syracuse takes on Coppin State Eagles, and three of the Eagles are averaging double figures in scoring this season.
In the latest AP poll this week Syracuse is ranked 19 nationally. Syracuse guard Alexis Peterson led all scorers last game with 18 points, her sixth straight game with more than 10 points.
Stony Brook was successful early in the game breaking the Syracuse full court press. The Orange will need to clean up their transition defense after if they plan to press Wednesday night.
Senior forward for Coppin State Janelle Lane and senior forward Jordan Swails are averaging 10.7 points per game and senior guard Amber Griffin is averaging 10.6 points per game.
The Eagles starting line up has the same senior experience as the Orange, which is impressive considering the Orange starting line-up is comprised of two juniors, two seniors, and a red shirt junior.
Coppin State is much taller than Stony Brook and will be more competitive on the block. Despite the size advantage Syracuse was out-rebounded by Stony Brook 42-38.
