Kenneth Ruff Flips to Syracuse

Syracuse has landed a big time prospect out of Florida who was previously committed to another ACC school.

The new Syracuse staff has another big recruiting win as former Virginia pledge Kenneth Ruff, a three-star inside linebacker, has committed to the Orange during an official visit.

Ruff was targeted right away by assistant coach Nick Monroe, responsibile for recruiting Florida for Syracuse. In fact, he had an in-home visit on Thursday, which went very well.

When Chris Beatty was hired, that sealed the deal for Ruff. Beatty was Ruff's primary recruiter at Virginia and a big reason why he picked the Cavs originally.

Ruff hails from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is one of the top inside linebacker in the state and in the South. He is listed at 6-foot-2, 236-pounds.

Syracuse was picked over offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Ole Miss, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia among others. He is the 39th rated inside linebacker in the 2016 class, 16th best in the South and 5th best in the state of Florida.

Ruff is Syracuse's 15th commitment overall and second since Dino Babers took over as head coach. He is also the first inside linebacker prospect this cycle. He is an early enrollee and will start his Orange career in January.
