'Cuse Commitment Calculator

We break down where things stand with each of Syracuse's top targets and the chances they commit to the Orange.

It's time to fire up the 'Cuse Commitment Calculator to find out who will end up picking Syracuse between now and signing day. The scale is 5-stars to 1-star, with 5-stars meaning most likely to pledge Orange and 1-star meaning virtually no shot for Syracuse.

RB Kentrail Moran: 4-stars - Yes Moran is committed to Illinois, but Syracuse has been on his mind since the old staff was in place. The new staff has restated their interest and have confirmed the official visit next month. Ultimately, I expect him to sign somewhere other than with the in-state Illini as of now, and Syracuse is a very realistic destination.

RB Sam Brodner: 3-stars (spotlight in the video above) - Brodney seems very high on Syracuse as well. He is a bit shorter than Moran, but is thicker and is lightning quick. He is an intriguing prospect and Syracuse will have a shot to make an impression during an official visit. Ironically, that official is the same weekend as Moran's.

WR Kelvin Harmon: 1-star - Harmon expressed initial interest in Syracuse, but has not gone beyond that. Other schools seem to be at the forefront, and Syracuse is on the far outside here.

WR Neru N'Shaka: 4-stars - N'Shaka does not claim any favorites publicly, but I get the sense that Syracuse is in a very good spot for him. His official visit will likely tell the tale.

WR Jack Wegher: 2-stars - It is still unknown as to whether or not he will taken an official visit to Syracuse this weekend, but my bet is that he will not. He likely sticks with Purdue. If he does visit, this changes. But as of now, he seems to be content with his decision.

WR Alonge Brooks: 3-stars - This is all dependent on whether or not Syracuse extends an offer to the junior college wide receiver. Brooks has some skills and it is clear why the Orange has expressed interest. Next month will be critical in where things go between the two.

ATH Tyrek Tisdale: 2-stars - I'm not sure the new staff is as enamoured as the old staff was with Tisdale. If they decide to make a push, they would be the favorite. But as of now, the likelihood of Tisdale picking Syracuse seems to be waning.

OT Alaric Jackson: 3-stars - Jackson is another offensive lineman offered by the new staff. Nebraska and Iowa may be tough to beat here, but expect them to make a push. Getting him on campus for an official visit is critical.

OT Sean Foster: 2-stars - Foster says he has high interest in Syracuse, but has yet to set an official visit date. He told CuseNation.com that it is not guaranteed he takes one. He took one to Purdue last weekend and has one to Iowa State already scheduled in January. You get the impression that Iowa State and Illinois may be the favorites.

DT Bo Peek: 2-stars - Peek is still committed to Stanford, but has not set an official visit with the new staff. Until he does, Syracuse is on the outside here.

DE Amir Watts: 1-star - As of last week, Watts said he stil has not heard from the new Syracuse staff. That speaks to where their interest lies.

DE Joshua Uche: 2-stars - Uche is a new staff offer as well, but will be tough to pull from the state. Miami and Florida are heavy favorites. If Syracuse can get an official visit, however, they have a shot.

DE Joshua Black: 3-stars - Black is an Illinois commit just like Moran. Both are taking their official visits the same weekend. Black is on flip watch and thinks highly of the new staff.

OLB Andrew Armstrong: 5-stars - Armstrong committed to the new staff when they were at Bowling Green. He has a great relationship with them. Despite the fact that he wants to take officials elsewhere, expect him to end up at Syracuse. They are a heavy favorite right now.

OLB Roland Walder: 3-stars - Walder has been committed to Kentucky since October of 2014. The new Syracuse staff offered recently, and he seems to be somewhat open to the idea. Don't be surprised if he takes an official visit.

CB Marquis Smith: 3-stars - Syracuse has a shot here because he is scheduled to take an official visit next month. Smith is another corner at 6-feet or above and has a lot of upside. He would be a nice snag late in the cycle.

Tony Butler: 2-stars - Butler is the high school teammate of current Syracuse freshman Troy Henderson and commit Carl Jones. That said, he seems to have his eyes on other schools. Syracuse will try to get him on campus for an official, but he is likely headed elsewhere.

These are targets known at the moment. There are several others that are expected to emerge over the next month.
