2016 signee Tyus Battle scores 17 points in his St. Joseph debut

Tyus Battle scored 17 points in his season opener for St. Joseph.

The latest Syracuse basketball commit and signee, Tyus Battle, began a new chapter of his life on Friday night.

Battle, a 6-foot-7 combo-guard, transferred to St. Joseph's (Met.) in August. A main reason for the transfer was to play alongside his younger brother, Khalif, who is a 6-foot-3 freshman guard.

In their season opener tonight, Tyus scored a game-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and three steals. St. Joseph (Met.) defeated South Brusnwick, 58-42.

St. Joseph is now 1-0 on the season. Their next game is Sunday against Ramapo.
