Syracuse assistant Adrian Autry watches 2016 Canadian forward

Syracuse assistant Adrian Autry watched 2016 big man Kalif Young tonight in Canada.

One day after Mike Hopkins watched 2019 forward Isaiah Stewart, and Gerry McNamara watched 2017 targets Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree and Quade GreenAdrian Autry went up north to watch Kalif Young.

Young is a 6-foot-9, 250 pound class of 2016 big man. He plays for Orangeville Prep (Ontario, Canada).

Syracuse has been recruiting Young since last summer when he played for CIA Bounce, according to Tony McIntyre. After a slow start, Young's recruitment has been picking up of late.

Duke and Indiana also had assistants at his game tonight.

In his five documented games on Prep Circuit, Young is averaging 13.2 points and 15.0 rebounds per game. Orangeville Prep is 5-0 in those games.

Orangeville Prep defeated The Hill Academy on Wednesday night, 74-66, to improve to 12-3 overall, 8-0 in league play.

Young has offers from Pittsburgh and Providence, with many more schools showing interest.

It doesn't appear as though Young is a backup plan to Taurean Thompson. If Syracuse likes what they see, an offer could come immediately with a visit to campus shortly thereafter.

If Dajuan Coleman doesn't return next season, the Orange could sign both Thompson and Young. If Coleman returns, SU will only have one scholarship available, assuming everyone else returns.
