Ateman Sees Syracuse as Family Oriented

Cass Tech offensive lineman Kelvin Ateman recaps Syracuse visit.

Kelvin Ateman is a two-way lineman for Michigan power Cass Tech, who had 11 players on the Syracuse campus from Sunday through Monday. Ateman did not pick up an offer, but enjoyed himself nonetheless.

"Every part, there was not one part that was not dull," he said. "What I enjoyed most is how they will not set up a front for anybody. They treat you like you're already family. Everything is just open. They were funny and knew how to tell you waht's going on there.

"How and when and communication is the biggest key, which I also like."

Ateman said most of his conversations with the Syracuse staff were related to football, not on interest level or an offer. He did say, however, that he has sent his highlight tape to offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator Mike Lynch.

After visiting Syracuse, Ateman says an offer could drastically change his recruitment.

"Honestly, if they offered me, I would love to rush back up there," he said. "Possibly attend with Tim Walton. He told me that's how the coaching staff acts all the time."

Ateman said he is also hearing from Louisville and Tennessee right now.
